Property Crime Charges At Rockhampton 28 October

Detectives from Rockhampton Property Crime Unit have charged 38 people with 200 property crime offences this month as part of a targeted operation.

Operation Chainlink commenced on 14 October, with the aim of targeting repeat property crime offenders throughout the Rockhampton area, relating to burglary, enter premises and commit, and unlawful use of a motor vehicle offences.

As part of the operation, police arrested and charged a 43-year-old man who allegedly entered a number of addresses in Rockhampton City and Allenstown between 18 and 20 October.

It will be further alleged the man possessed a knife in a Yaamba Road shopping centre and stole a quantity of property from a retail store.

A 43-year-old Wandal man has been charged with four counts of enter dwelling and commit, two counts of stealing, and one count each of enter premises, common assault, possessing a knife in a public place, unlawful possession of suspected stolen property, and trespassing.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear before Rockhampton Magistrates Court on 13 November.
