Townsville police have charge three teenagers with 81 property crime offences alleged to have occurred over the long weekend.
Extensive investigations by Townsville Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) and Townsville Tactical Crime Squad (TCS) resulted in the location and arrest of three juveniles at a Vincent address yesterday afternoon, April 28.
Police will allege the charges relate to property crime offences across Townville including Thorn Street, Mount Louisa, Kokoda Street, Springbrook Parade, Greenbank Pocket and Lakewood Drive, Idalia, O'Connor Street, Tyack Street and Forrest Street, Rosslea, Mango Avenue and Kane Street, Mundingburra, University Road, Newtown Street, Kepler Street and Haldane Street, Wulguru and Nelson Street, South Townsville.
During the incidents it is alleged residences were broken into and vehicles or property were stolen.
A 15-year-old boy was charged with 32 offences including 6 counts each of enter dwelling and commit and enter dwelling with intent, five counts of attempted enter dwelling with intent, four counts of attempted enter premise with intent, three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts of enter premise and commit and one count each of enter premise with intent and one count each of attempted unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing and robbery. Police objected to bail, and he is due to appear in Townsville Childrens Court today.
A 15-year-old boy was charged with 25 offences including five counts each of attempted enter premises with intent and attempted enter dwelling with intent, four counts each of enter dwelling and commit indictable offence and enter dwelling with intent, three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts of enter premises and commit indictable offence and one count each of stealing and enter premises with intent. Police objected to bail, and he is due to appear in Townsville Childrens Court today.
A 16-year-old boy was charged with 24 offences including 6 counts of attempted enter dwelling with intent, four counts of enter dwelling with intent, three counts each of enter premise and commit indictable offence and enter dwelling and commit, two counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and attempted enter premise with intent and one count of stealing. Police objected to bail, and he is due to appear in Townsville Childrens Court today.
Since April 25, Townsville police have charged 17 people with 125 offences.
Townsville CIB Officer in Charge Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Caswell said we are relentless in our pursuit to hold property crime offenders to account and put them before the courts.
"We will continue to detect, deter and disrupt this type of criminal behaviour which is unacceptable in our community.
"This is a collaborative effort across various units in Townsville including CIB and TSC, to investigate, arrest and charge these property crime offenders," Detective Senior Sergeant Caswell said.
