Proposed Green Waste Fee Changes at Rural Facilities on Show

Some changes are being proposed to disposal fees paid at rural waste management facilities, without a weighbridge, across the Tamworth region to create more consistency across Council sites.

Rural customers currently pay a minimum charge based on the size of their load as there is no way to weigh materials at these facilities. Council has recognised that rural customers are potentially paying more per load compared to sites with weighbridge facilities and is proposing to reduce the fees as follows:

Clean green waste ute/car per visit - $5

Commercial - clean green waste ute/car per visit - $5

Clean green waste ute/car with single axle trailer per visit - $10

Commercial - clean green waste ute/car with single axle trailer per visit - $10

Clean green waste ute/car with double axle trailer per visit - $15

Commercial - clean green waste ute/car with double axle trailer per visit - $15

A report containing these proposed changes was received by Council at the Ordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday 28 November. The proposed changes will be on public exhibition for 28 days, closing Tuesday 9 January 2024. If there are no objections or amendments the changes will be implemented from Monday 15 January 2024.
