Proposed New Fee Structure

Resources Victoria is inviting feedback on proposed increases to fees and charges for the minerals and quarrying sectors.

The proposed changes would impact holders of mineral licences, quarry industry work authorities, miners' rights and tourist fossicking authorities.

The sector's fees and charges were last reviewed in 2014.

To commence on 1 October 2025, the increases aim to ensure the costs of regulating the resources sector are recovered from authority holders. This would enable the Earth Resources Regulator to continue monitoring and enforcing compliance across the state.

The feedback period closes on 23 June 2025.

The Regulatory Impact Statement outlining the proposed changes and information about how to provide feedback is available at Engage Victoria.
