PSOs seize firearms and ammunition in Reservoir

Protective Service Officers (PSO) speaking to a man without a ticket at Reservoir railway station have uncovered firearms, ammunition and knives overnight.

The officers first spoke with the man when he got off the train on Sunday 30 October just after 8pm.

The 34-year-old man, who repeatedly refused to provide his details, was arrested and searched.

PSOs discovered the man was carrying two alleged imitation firearms, an alleged homemade firearm, ammunition, multiple knives, suspected methylamphetamine and house breaking implements.

The Coburg man has been charged with various offences including:

• possess handgun without a licence

• possess imitation firearm without an exemption

• possess prohibited and controlled weapons

• possess a drug of dependence, and

• going equipped to steal.

He has been bailed to appear before Heidelberg Magistrates' Court on 10 May 2024.
