PTC officers detain 30 during drug dog operation in Granville

Officers from the Police Transport Command detained 30 people during Operation Hound, a drug dog operation, at Granville yesterday, NSW Police say.

During Saturday 20 May 2017, scheduled track work was being conducted on the main western train line.

Buses were utilised to replace trains between Granville and St Marys Railway Stations.

Police from the North West and South West Transport Action Groups, Rosehill LAC, Parramatta Police Transport Command and PTC OSG conducted a high profile operation with the assistance of two drug detection dogs.

Operation Hound was conducted between 6pm and 10.30pm with a total of 30 people arrested.

Officers made 28 drug detections for Cannabis, MDMA, Amphetamine and Cocaine while two arrests were made for outstanding warrants, resisting arrest, having goods in custody and possession of a knife.

Similar operations will be conducted across the transport network.

Police are urging anyone with information on the incident to call Crime Stoppers.
