Public appeal after man seriously assaulted in Windsor

Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit detectives are hoping to identify three men following a serious assault in Windsor earlier this year.

It's believed an unknown man yelled out to another man before approaching him from behind and punching him outside a restaurant on Chapel Street shortly before 2am on Sunday, 17 January.

The victim, a 51-year-old Prahran man, fell to the ground and struck his head on the footpath.

He was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.

It's alleged the offender and two other men then ran south on Chapel Street.

Police have released CCTV and images of three men they believe can assist with their enquiries.

The first man is perceived to be Middle Eastern in appearance, in his mid-30s, with a medium build and beard. He was wearing a grey Nike hooded jumper and sneakers with a shoulder bag.

The second man is perceived to be Middle Eastern in appearance, in his mid-30s, with a solid build and beard. He was wearing a black hooded jumper with a white Michael Jordan Motif on the front.

The third man is perceived to be Middle Eastern in appearance, in his mid-30s, with a medium build and beard. He was wearing a black hooded jumper and light grey tracksuit pants.
