Public Appeal: Assault occasioning bodily harm, Surfers Paradise

Police have released vision of a woman who may be able to assist with investigations into the assault of a pregnant woman at Surfers Paradise in December.

Around 1.50pm on Friday December 30, a 37-year-old Bosley Park woman was waiting in a queue at an indoor games arcade on Cavill Avenue with her husband and two children, when a staff-member ushered them forward.

Another woman demanded she was there first, so the 37-year-old allowed her to be served.

The woman continued to make rude remarks and hand gestures, and when the 37-year-old and her young son requested the woman stop, she swore at them before walking off.

The woman then returned a short time later and punched the 37-year-old seven times to the head before a witness intervened and pulled her off.

The 37-year-old, who is five-months pregnant, received serious facial injuries resulting in dental surgery.

Police are urging anyone who recognises this woman, or who has any information in relation to this assault, to come forward.
