Public appeal: Suspicious fire, Bahrs Scrub

Police are appealing for witnesses and dash-camera footage as part of the investigation into a suspicious house fire at Bahrs Scrub yesterday (Wednesday September 22).

Preliminary investigations indicate that before 5pm, a man wearing a high-visibility shirt, black hooded jumper and sunglasses was walking along Menora Road, before entering the yard of a unoccupied dwelling on Wuraga Road.

A short time later, a fire started in the front of the dwelling.

Emergency services were notified just after 5pm and attended the scene, where fire-fighters quickly extinguished the blaze.

The house was extensively damaged.

Police are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed something suspicious – or anyone who may have captured dash-camera footage - in the vicinity of Menora Road and Wuraga Road at Bahrs Scrub between 4:00pm and 5:15pm yesterday, to come forward.
