Public assistance sought, fuel drive offs, South Brisbane

Police are seeking public assistance to help identify a man who has been involved in a number of fuel drive offs in the South Brisbane area in the past few weeks, Queensland Police say.

On four separate occasions in the past two weeks, the man has driven a ute to service stations in Rocklea, Deagon and Durack and filled two drums with fuel.

The man then entered the service stations and claimed to have left his wallet in the ute before returning to the ute and driving off without paying.

The first incident occurred at an Ipswich Road service station on April 19, the second at a Deagon service station on Depot Road on May 4, the third at a Durack service station on Blunder Road on May 5 and the fourth at a Sherwood Road service station in Rocklea on May 5.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, in his 40s and has brown eyes a slim build and a shaved head.

The ute his is driving is a white Toyota Hilux with Queensland Registration 650KBF which were stolen from an address in Rocklea on April 26 with two black stripes on the bonnet and roof and it has two large fuel drums in the tray.

Anyone who has any information which may be able to assist with this investigation is being urged to contact police.
