Public health alert - St Vincent's Hospital and venues

NSW Health is alerting the public that a newly confirmed case of COVID-19 is a nurse at St Vincent's Hospital Sydney. The case will be reported in tomorrow's numbers.

The casual nurse worked a single evening shift on Wednesday 7 October while infectious.

It is believed the nurse provided specialised care to a single patient, and had limited contact with a very small number of colleagues.

Contact tracing is underway and the source of the infection is under investigation, though it is believed the source of infection occurred outside the hospital.

NSW Health can also advise of new locations visited by cases recently.

Anyone who attended the following venues is considered a casual contact and must monitor for symptoms and get tested immediately if they develop. After testing, they must remain in isolation until a negative test result is received:

  • Westfield Parramatta - 6 October, 12.00pm-12.15pm
  • Westfield Parramatta - 7 October, 12.00pm-12.30pm and 4.30-5.00pm
