Public place shooting - Fairfield City PAC

Police are appealing for public assistance following a public place shooting in Sydney's west overnight.

About 7.15pm yesterday (Friday 25 August 2023), police were called to Blackfriar Place, Wetherill Park, following reports of a shooting.

About 7.50pm the same day, an 18-year-old man presented to a hospital with gunshot wounds.

He was treated at the hospital and is in stable condition.

Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

An investigation has commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police were told the man was standing by a utility with three other males, when a black coloured SUV drove past them and allegedly fired multiple shots at them.

The utility has been seized by police for forensic examination.

The three other males were not injured.

As inquiries continue, investigators are appealing for anyone with information, CCTV vision or dashcam footage to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
