Pursuit in western and northern suburbs, South Australia

Police have pursued a car overnight before it was abandoned in the northern suburbs.

Just before 3am on Sunday 13 January, patrols spotted a silver Peugeot sedan on Sir Donald Bradman Drive at Adelaide Airport and tried to stop it.

The driver refused and was pursued by patrols through the western suburbs until PolAir took over the pursuit from the air.

The car was spotted again by patrols a short time later on Grand junction Road at Gepps Cross and was followed along Main North Road, Kesters Road and then Wilkinson Road before the car was abandoned on Maves Road behind the Para Hills Shopping Centre.

Police set up cordons and carried out a search of the area with the assistance of the Dog Operations Unit but could not locate the driver.

Investigations are continuing.
