Pursuit of stolen car at Logan

Four teenagers have been charged after a stolen car was allegedly driven at high speed through Logan last night.

It is alleged that at 7.30pm a Holden Calais sedan stolen from Browns Plains earlier yesterday deliberately rammed an unmarked police car on Blackwood Road at Woodridge.

The Calais was spotted by PolAir at around 8.15pm in Eagleby and tracked through various suburbs as it was allegedly driven at high speed through red traffic signals at busy intersections in Beenleigh.

Just after 9pm a tyre deflation device was successfully deployed on Chambers Flat Road at Park Ridge South and the stolen car allegedly continued to travel at speed.

Police cars followed the vehicle and were able to make a successful intercept on Jacaranda Avenue at Kingston. Two police vehicles sustained damage in the process.

Four teenagers were immediately taken into custody at the scene.

It will be also alleged that a credit card stolen at the same time as the car was used to make purchases at a number of local businesses.

A 15-year-old Yarrabilba boy has been charged with three counts of burglary and fraud, two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and receiving tainted property and one count of possessing dangerous drugs.

A 16-year-old Boronia Heights boy has been charged with five counts of fraud and one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and burglary and commit indictable offence.

A 16-year-old Crestmead girl and a 17-year-old Logan Reserve girl were both charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Investigations are continuing.
