Qantas Launches 2026 Regional Grants Program

Qantas is inviting not-for-profit community groups across regional Australia to apply for a share of $2 million in funding as the airline's Regional Grants program takes off for another year.

Now in its fourth year, the Qantas Regional Grants Program is aimed at strengthening regional communities by helping organisations deliver essential services, expand opportunities and support wellbeing.

Since launching, the program has awarded a total of $7 million in grants, flights and marketing support to nearly 130 groups and projects. This includes initiatives such as food security, education, community safety and native wildlife support. In 2025, nearly 50 regional community groups received funding to deliver important projects, including:

  • MHA Care Moira Foodshare (Victoria) - to purchase and equip a refrigerated van to transport perishable food safely and efficiently to vulnerable communities across rural Victoria.
  • STEM Changemakers (Queensland) - to deliver a free two-month program inspiring girls to explore careers in science, technology, engineering and maths.
  • Tweed District Rescue Squad (New South Wales) - to fund two-way portable radios to support the work of local emergency volunteers.
  • Remote Op Shop (Northern Territory) - to purchase and fit out a truck to serve as a mobile op shop and delivery vehicle supporting remote First Nations communities.
  • Sam's Spares Incorporated (Western Australia) - to provide 100 refurbished laptops to regional students in need.

QantasLink CEO Mark Dal Pra said supporting regional communities remains central to the airline's identity.

"As an airline founded in outback Queensland, regional Australia is at the heart of QantasLink and we know how important local organisations are to the wellbeing and resilience of their communities.

"Our grants program provides practical support for groups making a real impact in their communities. It helps local organisations go further, whether they're delivering essential services, creating opportunities or support people through difficult times.

"We're proud of the difference the program is making and encourage regional organisations doing important work to apply."

Applications close on 10 May 2026. A panel of community representatives and Qantas employees will determine the successful recipients, who will be contacted before July 2026.

Qantas is Australia's largest regional airline, connecting more than 50 communities with capital cities and supporting jobs, tourism and local businesses through its ongoing investment in regional Australia.
