QCS Mental Health Careers Information Session – Cairns (with audio grabs)
Mental health clinicians interested in working with individuals to improve wellbeing outcomes, promote rehabilitation and enhance community safety are invited to attend a Queensland Corrective Services information session in Cairns next week.
The free information session provides an opportunity to engage with the clinical and program delivery teams from Lotus Glen Correctional Centre.
Attendees will gain insight into practicing within a correctional environment to support prisoner mental health, rehabilitation, and reintegration as well as the career opportunities on offer at the correctional centre including for psychologists, social workers and occupational therapists.
Lotus Glen Correctional Centre has vacancies for entry level roles to experienced clinician positions such as Mental Health Clinicians, Senior Mental Health Clinicians, and Program Delivery Officers.

Lotus Glen Correctional Centre Senior Psychologist Beth Fulton said the information session would provide an opportunity for qualified mental health professionals to learn about the qualifications and experience required, as well as the many benefits of a professional career with Queensland Corrective Services.
"I'll be there with some of the psychologists who work at Lotus Glen Correctional Centre, so you'll be able to meet with us, find out what it's like to work there, the kinds of professional development opportunities available and the work you'll be doing," she said.
"The good thing about working at Lotus Glen as a psychologist or mental health clinician is the diversity in the people we see and work with to promote behavioural change.
