Quad bike and cash seized, man charged, NSW

A man has been charged after police located stolen goods in his possession yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 9.30pm (Monday 26 February 2018), police from Newcastle City Police District were conducting speed enforcement duties on Main Road, Jesmond.

Officers stopped a blue Holden Commodore Utility transporting a quad bike.

The driver, a 24-year-old man from Mt Druitt, returned a negative result to a roadside breath test.

Police searched the vehicle and allegedly seized over $13,000 in cash, as well as items believed to be illicit drugs.

The quad bike was also seized by police.

The man was arrested and taken to Waratah Police Station where he was charged with goods in personal custody (x2).

The man was granted bail and will appear Newcastle Local Court on Thursday 22 March 2018.
