The Crisafulli Government has welcomed the launch of Games Procurement Program - giving Queensland businesses the first opportunity to bid for contracts to supply goods and services for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

50 expressions of interest (EOI) packages are now open to Queensland businesses.

The packages cover major critical work programs - from technology and temporary venues, through to the detail of market research, signage, and event production.

The Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee is set to host additional regional Meet the Brisbane 2032 Buyer Roadshow with the first set to take place in Cairns on 13 November.

After 1200 days of Games chaos under the former Labor government, the Crisafulli Government is getting on with the job of delivering a lasting legacy and Games for all of Queensland.

Minister for Sport and Racing and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tim Mander said it was important to make sure Queensland businesses are positioned for success.

"We want this to be a Games for Queensland, by Queensland," Minister Mander said.

"That means helping local companies understand the procurement process and making sure they have the best chance to share in the benefits of hosting the Games.

"Hosting an Olympic and Paralympic Games provides an ideal opportunity to drive economic growth through contracts and jobs, and we're determined to ensure Queensland people and businesses are front and centre of this economic opportunity."

"We'd love to see businesses from Cairns to Coolangatta get involved in the Games.

"I encourage businesses of all sizes across Queensland to engage with the Brisbane 2032 procurement program. This is your chance to be part of history and to help us create lasting economic benefits that extend well beyond 2032."

Brisbane 2032 President Andrew Liveris said more than $2.5 billion across hundreds of procurement contracts would be available from the Organising Committee in the lead up to 2032, which will be released in waves over the coming years.

"Procuring the right goods, services and people will be critical to our success in 2032 and I'm determined to ensure our local Queensland and Australian businesses get a healthy slice of the procurement pie," Mr Liveris said.

"To ensure businesses of all shapes and sizes are set up for success, I'm announcing today that we're taking the Meet the Brisbane 2032 Buyer event to the regions."

"The first regional event will be in Cairns on 13 November, and tickets go on sale today. People of Cairns, I encourage you to get in quick because we know these events sell fast."

"Hosting the Games is our chance to put our city, state and nation on the world stage like never before, showcasing local products and talented workforces in the lead up to and beyond 2032."
