Queensland Gov Unveils Global Trade Mission for Investment

Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training The Honourable Ros Bates
  • New global strategy launched to boost trade and investment.
  • 35+ engagements across Dubai, London, Madrid and Frankfurt.
  • QueensLand of Opportunity signals the State is open for business.
  • The Crisafulli Government is delivering jobs and growth through stronger international partnerships, after a decade of decline under the former Labor Government.

The Crisafulli Government is driving new opportunities for Queensland exporters through a major trade and investment mission to the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and across Europe.

The global mission will reinforce Queensland's place on the world stage, backed by the new Queensland–Europe and United Kingdom Trade & Investment Strategy 2025–2028 and the launch of QueensLand of Opportunity - the state's first global business brand.

After a decade of decline under for the former Labor Government, where exports were transactional and relationships were treated as an afterthought, Queensland's export potential was left sitting idle and investment opportunities were missed.

The Crisafulli Government understands that strong relationships pave the way to deeper international partnerships, and better outcomes for Queensland.

Under Labor, there was no plan to diversify markets, no strategy to build resilient supply chains, and no significant effort to convert investment opportunities into long-term outcomes for Queensland.

The Crisafulli Government is changing that - with a clear plan to harness Queensland's competitive edge across energy and resources, defence, aerospace, and digital innovation, and turn global engagement into local jobs and growth.

One standout example is Brisbane-based Audeara, whose personalised hearing technology is now exported to Europe - a clear demonstration of Queensland's leadership in digital health and innovation.

Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training, Ros Bates, will lead more than 35 engagements in Dubai, London, Madrid, and Frankfurt, promoting Queensland's strengths and securing new partnerships to drive long-term growth.

Minister Bates said the mission draws a sharp contrast to the past and Labor's decade of decline, adding that the program sends a clear signal to investors and decision-makers.

"Queensland is open for business," Minister Bates said.

"By meeting decision-makers face-to-face in the UAE, the UK and Europe, we're making sure Queensland exporters have the access, the investment and the partnerships they need to grow."

"Every agreement we secure and every relationship we strengthen flows back into local communities in the form of jobs, stronger industries and long-term prosperity."

"This trade mission will take advantage of the recent signing of the Australia-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, which presents new opportunities for Queensland businesses to sell their goods to customers in the UAE."
