Six Scout groups, a Scout Camp and three Girl Guides groups will share in $1.7 million of the funding.

It's just one of the ways the Crisafulli Government is delivering a fresh start and a plan for Queensland's future.

Projects include:

  • Refurbishing the kitchen at the Mount Gravatt Girl Guides Hall
  • Infrastructure upgrades for Moggill Girl Guides and Kenmore District Girl Guides
  • Upgrades to the Helensvale and Dayboro Scout Halls
  • Accessibility improvements for the Aspley Scout Den
  • New machinery for Seeonee Park Scout Camp in Rockhampton
  • Refurbishment of the Moggill, Karana, and Kenmore Scouts' facilities

After a decade of decline under Labor, the Crisafulli Government is enhancing community facilities to help get more Queenslanders active.

Minister for Sport and Racing and Minister for Olympic and Paralympic Games Tim Mander said the works would not only support the current Scouts and Guides but will also encourage more young Queenslanders to get involved.

"Queensland's Scouts and Girl Guides have a wonderful presence within our communities, and the skills they learn are carried with them through life," Minister Mander said.

"The Crisafulli Government is encouraging more young Queenslanders to be more active, and these organisations offer a fantastic way to do just that."

"By upgrading infrastructure and facilities, current local Scouts and Guides stand to benefit, and future generations will be inspired to join."

"I'm looking forward to seeing all of the works complete, enabling these terrific young Queenslanders to continue contributing to their communities as well as being more active."
