Officers presented with the Australian Corrections Medal (ACM) by Governor of Queensland
Two Queensland Corrective Services officers were presented with the Australian Corrections Medal (ACM) at a ceremony at Government House in Brisbane on Thursday 1 May, as part of the Australia Day Honours List for 2025.
Lauren Thompson, Acting Director Community Corrections Operations and retired Woodford Correctional Centre Dog Handler John Rowan received the ACM from Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM, Govenor of Queensland.

The awards recognise the officer's distinguished service to the frontline of public safety.
Queensland Corrective Services Commissioner Paul Stewart APM attended the ceremony and expressed his pride in the officers.
"Congratulations to this year's recipients of the Australian Corrections Medal for their outstanding leadership and commitment to reforming prisoners and improving community safety," Commissioner Stewart said.
"This recognition highlights the exemplary work our officers perform in bringing about positive changes in both custodial and community corrections environments.
"On behalf of QCS, I extend my heartfelt congratulations for this well-deserved honour."
