Delivered under the National Skills Agreement (NSA), the centre is aimed at developing the pipeline of workers needed for the construction industry nationally to support housing and infrastructure delivery.
The Centre will make it easier to get into construction jobs by recognising prior learning, offering flexible training opportunities and using simulated and virtual training.
It will also deliver training to help small-to-medium construction businesses leverage emerging technology to boost productivity, enhance safety and reduce costs.
The $73.8 million joint investment is the third Centre of Excellence established in Queensland and will create more training places, modern technology and stronger regional pathways into construction jobs.

TAFE Centres of Excellence aim to increase collaboration between TAFEs, through partnerships with employers, unions, universities and other stakeholders. They deliver the skills people need for good, secure work and meaningful careers.
The Australian government is investing up to $325 million under the 5-year NSA to establish a network of TAFE Centres of Excellence.
Each TAFE Centre of Excellence will focus on high skills needs to help deliver a skilled workforce for strategically important industries.
