Queensland's first Funlab Precinct opens on Sunny coast

ARCHIE BROTHERS SUNSHINE COAST

Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq NOW OPEN at Maroochydore – welcome to the coast of fun!!

Attention Sunshine Coast – there's a new super cool kid in town! Meet Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq, a house of fun, arcade games, trippy virtual reality experiences and 10 lanes of bowling, not to mention insane cocktails and rip-snorter of a menu. Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq has opened alongside fellow Funlab family members, Strike and Holey Moley Golf Club at the Big Top Shopping Centre in the Sunshine Coast, creating Queensland's very first Funlab Precinct!

So, if you haven't heard of Mario Cart, Monopoly Roll 'n Go, Virtual Rabbids VR, Fast Track Air Hockey or Zombie Splash (among a leaderboard of more), you'd better brush up! These are the arcade games – old school and new – they are going to blow your mind! Here's a sneaky cheat sheet….

  • Mario Kart – It's the arcade racing game that's been destroying relationships since 2005 and yet we still can't get enough of the wacky characters and silly weapons (is there anything worse than getting hit by spiny shell seconds from the finish line!?!?).
  • Air Hockey – Ah Air Hockey, our arch nemesis. Why, oh, why, when we are one point from a resounding victory, does it somehow manage to remove all our coordination and reflexes and cause us to shoot several 'own' goals in a row? Anyway, we digress. Air Hocky is fun.
  • Whack n Win – Impress your date (or just yourself) with your mad whacking skills by hammering the button with just the right level of power to get the 1000 points! Don't be fooled, this classic whacking game is about skill, not strength.
  • Virtual Rabbids – This virtual reality game provides a fully immersive and totally hilarious adventure full of twists, turns, thrills and spills for kids and kidults alike. And the best thing is you can play it with a mate, with a complete stranger or all by yourself.
  • Monopoly Roll 'n Go – it's Monopoly but not as you know it – it's got all the flashing lights, it's oversized and it's Game On for the best properties on the big board. Be warned, it gets intense!
  • Zombie Splash – finally it's time to fight back against those perpetual undead, and with high definition visual effects on a huge screen, you'll never feel so alive!!

Let's talk about something to sip – think: cocktails that celebrate flavour, colour and all that fizz!

First up - like a glitter-ball boss carving up the dancefloor, the Ballin' Blue will make every disc diva's dreams come true! Served from a mirrored disco ball (not even kidding), this sensational shared sip includes Ketel One Citroen Vodka, Blue Curacao, peach, lemon and La Gioiosa Prosecco!

There's the Circus Sour, starring Cointreau, Chambord, lychee, cranberry, bubble gum, lemon and egg white (fairy floss) that guarantees to make you the jester or the ringmaster, whichever you prefer!

Pop Til You Drop is liquid proof that popcorn is NOT just for the movies! This delicious caramelly creation includes Fireball, butterscotch, apple juice, maple popcorn, bitters and whipped cream.

With possibly the best name for a cocktail in the known universe, please welcome, Let's Get Ready to Crumble! Making this sip spectacular is vanilla cookie shake with an Oreo-frosted rim, garnished with a chocolate chip cookie, whipped cream and a classic Wagon Wheel (add Cinnamon Whisky for an extra kick!). You are welcome!

And here's a mocktail to make the under 18s fizz - Candy Stand is a strawberry shake with a vanilla-frosted rim, a giant lollipop, candy kebab, whipped cream and sprinkles. Add Pampero White Rum and Frangelico for the over 18s!

Funlab CEO Michael Schreiber said since first opening on the Sunny Coast in 2018, Holey Moley and Strike had received amazing support.

"We're so excited to welcome Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq to our fun house. It will be the trio of trippy, dazzling fun, fittingly based at the Big Top Shopping Centre," he said.

Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq NOW OPEN at the Big Top Shopping Centre, Maroochydore. Christmas Party enquiries are now open.
