Applications are now open for Mildura Rural City Council's latest Quick Response Community Grants funding round.
Grants up to $2000 are available to support projects and initiatives that address an immediate need in our community.
This could include, but is not limited to, community workshops, small revegetation projects, promoting community projects, emergency response and relief, and more.
Applications are open until May 2026.
Councillor for Community Development and Gender Equity Katie Clements said the program aims to promote health and wellbeing, increase volunteer participation and help people feel safe in our community.
"Our Quick Response Grants are a great option for our region's numerous hard-working not-for-profit community groups to make their ready-to-go programs a reality," Cr Clements said.
"Applications are assessed as soon as they are received, with a relatively short turnaround time for successful applicants to receive the funding they need."
Grants can be used to activate programs and initiatives that:
- Support our environment to be cooler and greener
- Reduce waste production and/or increase recycling
- Reduce energy and waste and/or the use of renewable energy sources
- Support revegetation projects or manage pest plants and animals to protect biodiversity in our region
- Increase community education and awareness of environmental issues that address climate change
- Reduce barriers and encourage active participation in the community
- Provide opportunities to create connections and belonging in our community
- Support children and our youngest residents to have the best start in life
- Deliver initiatives and programs that help people feel safe
- Provide diverse community and recreation services
- Develop our vibrant arts and culture community
- Support community relief and recovery projects
- Promote gender equality to prevent family violence
- Encourage community festivities/spirit, including community decorations
- Support reconciliation in our community
"The possibilities are endless, and I certainly encourage eligible local groups to apply now," Cr Clements said.
