Twelve men will face court following an operation targeting the trafficking of illicit drugs by members of the Rebels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG).
Twelve men will face court following an operation targeting the trafficking of illicit drugs by members of the Rebels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG).
Officers from SAPOL's Crime Gangs Task Force commenced the operation in January after identifying a suspected drug trafficking network involving members and associates of the Rebels.
During the operation, 15 residential and commercial properties were searched at Angle Vale, Kudla, Salisbury South and other northern suburbs. Police seized various illicit drugs, two pill presses, numerous vehicles and approximately $42,545 in cash.
Of significance in the searches was the recovery of a loaded firearm at Salisbury South along with six cars and three motorcycles seized from Kudla.
The following men have been arrested in relation to the operation –
- A 37-year-old man from Kudla was charged with 28 counts of trafficking a controlled drug
- A 35-year-old man from Munno Para West was charged with 7 counts of trafficking a controlled drug
- A 27-year-old man from Pooraka was charged with trafficking in a commercial quantity of a controlled drug and trafficking a controlled drug.
- A 43-year-old man from Andrews Farm was charged with 13 counts of trafficking a controlled drug
- A 33-year-old man from Kudla was charged with trafficking a controlled drug and cultivate cannabis
- A 36-year-old man from Kudla was charged with trafficking a controlled drug and cultivate cannabis
- A 46-year-old man from Elizabeth Downs was charged with trafficking a controlled drug and cultivate cannabis
- A 36-year-old man from Elizabeth North was charged with trafficking a controlled drug and cultivate cannabis
- A 50-year-old man from Willaston was charged with four counts of trafficking in a controlled drug
- A 34-year-old man from Craigmore was charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled drug
- A 23-year-old man from Williamstown was charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled drug
- A 26-year-old man from Ingle Farm was charged with trafficking a controlled drug
Investigations are ongoing and further arrests are expected.
Police are also investigating if this operation is linked with the recent shooting incident at Liberman Road, Para Hills on Monday.
Detective Superintendent Shane Addison, Officer in Charge of Serious and Organised Crime Branch said, "Police will continue to target members of Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs and their criminal enterprises.
Our focus remains on disrupting, disabling and dismantling the criminal activity of OMCG's, particularly those who choose to traffic drugs and cause harm to the community.
