Ram raid, Hamilton Harbour

Police are investigating a ram raid at a Hamilton Harbour supermarket early this morning.

Around 1.20am a stolen beige Volkswagen Tiguan was seen being reversed into the doors of the Kingsford Smith Drive shop.

Once the vehicle smashed through, three people were seen entering the store.

Drawers containing cigarettes were loaded into the vehicle.

The three people had their faces covered and were wearing gloves.

The SUV was seen driving down Hercules Street towards the Gateway Bridge.

Just before 4am the vehicle was located submerged at the Nudgee Waterhole.

Anyone with vision or further information about the incident is urged to contact police.
