Raptor Squad officers have charged four people under Strike Force Halesowen - a strike force established to investigate a spate of public place shootings and arsons targeting a family in Sydney's south-west.
About 6am on Tuesday 17 February 2025, emergency services were called to Macquarie Street in Greenacre following reports of a shooting.
Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command attended and were told a man had been shot outside a home by the occupants of an SUV before it drove away.
The man - aged 44 - was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for multiple gunshot wounds before being taken to hospital in a serious condition.
A short time later police were called to Samuel Street in Wiley Park following reports of a car fire. Police attended and found an SUV well alight. The fire was extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW and the car was seized for forensic examination.
About 12.45am on Wednesday 18 February 2026, officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command responded to reports of shots fired at a house on Menzies Circuit in St Clair. A woman aged in her 50s was home at the time but was uninjured.
A short time later, emergency services were called to a car fire on Freeman Street in Colyton. Police attended along with Fire and Rescue NSW who extinguished the blaze. A crime scene was established, and the car was seized for forensic examination.
About 6.05am on Wednesday 18 February 2026, emergency services were called to Hunt Street in Guildford West, following reports of a fire.
Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command attended and located a house and nearby vehicle alight. Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished both blazes and no injuries were reported.
Local police commenced initial inquiries, before the matter was referred to State Crime Command's Raptor Squad under Strike Force Halesowen.
Strike Force Halesowen was established to investigate the incidents, all of which are believed to have been targeting the same family.
Yesterday (Thursday 19 February 2026), strike force officers executed six search warrants in Riverwood, Guildford, Lilyfield, Villawood and Auburn.
During the warrants police seized three vehicles, 1kg of cocaine, knuckle dusters, electronics and clothing relevant to their investigation.
An 18-year-old man was arrested at the Riverwood address. He was taken to Campsie Police Station, where he was charged with damage property by fire/exp >$15000, and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.
The man was granted conditional bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court on Tuesday 10 March 2026, where police will allege he was involved in the firebombing at Guildford West.
In Villawood, police arrested a 19-year-old man. He was taken to Bankstown Police Station, where he was charged with damage property by fire/exp >$15000 and participate criminal group contribute criminal relating to the Guildford West firebombing.
He was also charged with supply prohibited drug >= large commercial quantity and supply prohibited drug >indictable &
The man was refused bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court today (Friday 20 February 2026).
At an address in Guildford, police arrested a 19-year-old man. He was taken to Granville Police Station, where he was charged with accessory after the fact to shoot at with intent to murder, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity and possess prohibited drug.
The man was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court today, where police will allege he picked up the gunman involved in the shooting of the 44-year-old man after the incident.
At the Auburn address, a 16-year-old boy was arrested. He was taken to Auburn Police Station, where he was charged with accessory after the fact to shoot at with intent to murder, supply pistol to person unauthorised to possess it, and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.
He was refused bail to appear in a children's court today, where it will be alleged he was involved in the handling of the firearm.
