Rare stolen race car recovered

Police are investigating the theft of an extremely rare race car that was stolen from a property in Toorak.

It's believed offender/s stole the vehicle from a Hill Street property sometime between 11.30pm on 8 March and 4am on 9 March,

The 1960s vehicle was found a couple of streets from where it was stolen, on Grange Road, by police patrolling the area about 5.30am on 9 March.

There are only six of these cars in the world and unfortunately the offenders have damaged the clutch, making it undrivable.

Investigators have released an image of the Brabham BT 21 in the hope someone may have information about the theft.
