Rated officer volunteers needed to support aviation diversity outreach

Air Force Recruiting Service Detachment 1 is encouraging units to nominate Air Force rated officers from across the total force to support outreach and engagement activities designed to increase aviation diversity and support youth aviation awareness.

Deadline to apply is Nov. 30, but can be extended with coordination through AFRS Det 1.

All candidates must be a volunteer; qualified in one of these primary Air Force specialty codes: 11X, 12X, 13B, 18X (i.e., completed undergraduate flight training); and available for around three temporary duty assignments per year that average three to five days (some activities could be longer).

All ranks will be considered although company-grade officers are highly desired. Each nominee's squadron commander (or equivalent) must endorse the individual volunteer and include a memo acknowledging the potential travel commitment.

Selected members will participate in fully-funded temporary duty assignments in support of the Air Force chief of staff's Rated Diversity Improvement initiatives and AFRS activities.
