RBM commits R5 million in support of flood relief efforts in KwaZulu-Natal

RICHARDS BAY, South Africa -- Richards Bay Minerals (RBM) has committed R5 million towards supporting relief efforts in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), following the devastation caused by the recent floods.

Working together with the Provincial and local governments, as well as key partners in the region, RBM will contribute these funds to assist affected KZN residents receive basic necessities and to support on-going search and rescue efforts.

RBM Managing Director Werner Duvenhage said "The recent floods have been truly devastating to many members of our broader KZN community. We are deeply saddened by the great loss of life and the personal disruption caused by these floods to thousands of families in our Province.

"While we are confident that KZN will rebuild, we know that, for many families, these floods have been a tragic event. As a member of the KZN community and as a business whose employees have had loved ones affected, we are committing ourselves to assisting in restoring our community and our Province."

RBM is working closely with the Provincial government and local NGOs recognized for their disaster response in rolling out its support.
