RCAF Flypasts Set for Remembrance Day Events

The Royal Canadian Air Force will conduct flypasts for several Remembrance Day commemorations across Canada on November 11. These will be carried out by aircraft from Royal Canadian Air Force Wings throughout Canada at various times throughout the day.

In the National Capital Region, CF-18 Hornets will conduct flypasts over ceremonies at the National War Memorial and Beechwood Cemetery. Flypasts by Royal Canadian Air Force aircraft will also take place in other communities across Canada, as follows:

  • Alberta - Bruderheim (CH-146 Griffon); Calgary (CC-177 Globemaster); Edmonton (CH-146 Griffon); and Lethbridge (CC-177 Globemaster).
  • British Columbia - Campbell River (CC-295 Kingfisher); Comox (CC-295 Kingfisher); Courtenay (CC-295 Kingfisher); Cumberland (CC-295 Kingfisher); Kamloops (CP-140 Aurora); Lantzville (CC-295 Kingfisher); Nanaimo (CC-295 Kingfisher); Qualicum Beach (CC-295 Kingfisher); Sidney (CC-295 Kingfisher); Vancouver (CH-148 Cyclone); and Westwold (CP-140 Aurora).
  • Manitoba - Winnipeg (CT-142 Dash-8).
  • New Brunswick - Oromocto (CH-146 Griffon) and Shediac (CP-140 Aurora).
  • Northwest Territories - Yellowknife (CC-138 Twin Otter).
  • Nova Scotia - Bridgewater (CC-130H Hercules or CC-295 Kingfisher or CH-149 Cormorant); Digby (CC-130H Hercules or CC-295 Kingfisher or CH-149 Cormorant); Gaetz Brook (CH-148 Cyclone); Halifax (CH-148 Cyclone); Kingston (CC-130H Hercules or CC-295 Kingfisher or CH-149 Cormorant); Tatamagouche (CP-140 Aurora); and Yarmouth (CC-130H Hercules or CC-295 Kingfisher or CH-149 Cormorant).
  • Ontario - Campbellford (CH-146 Griffon); Carleton Place (CH-147F Chinook); Toronto (CC-130J Hercules); and Whitby (CC-130J Hercules).
  • Québec - Farnham (CH-146 Griffon and CH-147F Chinook); Montréal (CH-146 Griffon and CH-147F Chinook); St-Donat de Montcalm (CF-18 Hornet); St-Gabrielle-de-Valcartier (CH-146 Griffon); St-Jean-sur-Richelieu (CH-146 Griffon and CH-147F Chinook); and Québec City (CH-146 Griffon).

The aircraft will fly over the events at an altitude no lower than 500 feet above the highest obstacle on their routes. Flypasts by Royal Canadian Air Force aircraft are carefully planned and closely controlled for public safety and are dependent upon weather and flying conditions.
