Re-appeal To Locate Teenage Girl Missing From Heathcote

Police are re-appealing for public assistance to locate a teenage girl missing from Sydney's south.

Kya Leighton, aged 14, was last seen at Heathcote last Saturday (4 April 2026).

When she could not be located or contacted, officers attached to Surry Hills Police Area Command were notified on Sunday 5 April 2026 and Wollongong Police District have commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.

Following inquiries, police have established that Kya was in the Wollongong area about 4.30pm today (Saturday 11 April 2026).

Family and police hold concerns for her welfare given her age.

Kya is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 155cm-160cm tall, of medium build, fair complexion, with blue/pink and black coloured/dyed hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.

Kya is known to frequent the Sutherland Shire and Helensburgh area.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact Wollongong Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
