The Australian Government is pleased to advise Mrs Elizabeth Unkles has been reappointed as Manager of the Norfolk Island Health and Residential Aged Care Service (NIHRACS) for a further three-year term.

The Australian Government is pleased to advise Mrs Elizabeth Unkles has been reappointed as Manager of the Norfolk Island Health and Residential Aged Care Service (NIHRACS) for a further three-year term.

Mrs Unkles is highly experienced in clinical and health administration roles and committed to delivering services which are fit-for-purpose for the local community.

Since being first appointed in 2024, Mrs Unkles has shepherded the organisation through significant corporate and clinical change.

During her tenure as manager, NIHRACS was accredited under the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards in October 2024.

Mrs Unkles has successfully overseen a number of organisational priorities, including finalising a new enterprise agreement, closing financial audits with the Australian National Audit Office and establishing internal clinical and risk governance arrangements.

She has also worked closely with community stakeholders and health service partners across Queensland Health and Metro North Health.

Her reappointment provides continuity in the management of NIHRACS and supports ongoing provision of high-quality health care to the Norfolk Island community.

We congratulate Mrs Unkles on her reappointment and look forward to continuing to work with her on health service delivery.

The NIHRACS Manager is appointed under the Norfolk Island Health and Residential Aged Care Act 1985 (NI) by the Australian Government Minister for Regional Development, Local Government and Territories, currently the Hon Kristy McBain MP, or the Minister's delegate.
