Shellharbour City Council is helping residents and small businesses reduce energy bills, with the third round of its Sustainability Rebates Program now open.
The program offers cash-back incentives for renewable energy and energy-efficient upgrades, making it easier for the community to lower energy use, improve comfort at home or work and join the shift to a clean energy future.

Residents and businesses can get rebates for upgrades such as solar panels, batteries, heat pump hot water systems, insulation, electric vehicle chargers, induction cooktops, switchboard upgrade and air conditioning. These upgrades must be installed between 1 July 2026 and 30 June 2027.
Households can receive up to $250 and small businesses up to $500, with a maximum of two rebates per eligible property.
Rebates are available to people who own or rent homes in Shellharbour, as well as landlords, with applications completed online.
Mayor Chris Homer said the program supports practical steps that benefit both our community and the environment.
"Solar power and energy-efficient upgrades can make homes and workplaces more comfortable while reducing everyday costs," he said.
"This program helps lower the upfront cost so more households and businesses can make the switch to an efficient, all-electric future. I encourage residents and small businesses to check their eligibility and apply early."
A limited number of rebates are available, with the program running until 30 June 2027 or until funding is exhausted.
Residents and businesses are encouraged to apply online and explore opportunities to combine Council rebates with other government programs to maximise savings.
