Rebecca McGrath and Mike Roche join Macquarie Group and Macquarie Bank Boards

Macquarie Group and Macquarie Bank Chairman, Peter Warne, today announced the appointments of Rebecca McGrath and Mike Roche to the Macquarie Group Limited (ASX: MQG; ADR: MQBKY) and Macquarie Bank Limited (ASX: MBL) Boards as independent directors, effective 20 January 2021.

Ms McGrath has broad experience in the energy and industrial sectors and held several executive positions globally during her 25-year career at BP plc, including Chief Financial Officer of BP Australasia between 2008 and 2011. She was also previously a director of CSR Limited and Incitec Pivot Limited.

Ms McGrath is currently Chairman of OZ Minerals Limited and a non-executive director of Goodman Group. She is a non-executive director of Investa Property Group, Chairman of Scania Australia and President of the Victorian Council of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is also a non-executive director of Kilfinan Australia.

Mr Roche has extensive experience in the financial services sector, reflecting his early actuarial career and more than 30 years in corporate finance advice. He has a strong background in structured finance and the development of capital markets instruments. Between 1993 and 2016, he held a range of positions at Deutsche Bank, including ten years as Head of Mergers and Acquisitions. He has played a key role in many of Australia’s largest and most complex takeovers and in the privatisation of energy and airport infrastructure.

Mr Roche is currently a non-executive director of Wesfarmers Limited, MaxCap Group Limited and Six Park Asset Management. He is also a member of ADARA Partners Corporate Advisory Wise Counsel Panel and a non-executive Trustee Director of EISS Super. His not-for-profit positions include Small Business Mentor at Many Rivers Microfinance Limited and Founder and Director of the Sally Foundation.

The appointments result in the Macquarie Group Board comprising 11 members, including five female directors (Macquarie Bank Board 12 members, including six females).
