At the heart of Monash

Natasha Brusco and George's Gymnastics Program, were the big winners at last year's Sir John Monash awards.

Natasha (pictured with her son George) has urged Monash to get behind the program by nominating someone who works tirelessly for the community.

Just by nominating, you can make a massive difference.

"Community‑driven nominations matter because they shine a light on the people whose dedication often goes unseen, yet whose impact is deeply felt," Natasha said.

Last year Natasha was named Volunteer of the Year for her groundbreaking inclusive gymnastics program and later claimed the awards' highest honour, the Sir John Monash Award for Outstanding Leadership.

The program provides 200 children with disabilities, from seven specialist schools, with free access to inclusive gymnastics classes. In providing a home for the program, as well as invaluable financial and logistical support, Waverley Gymnastics Centre also won the Outstanding Advocate of People with a Disability category.

"Winning the 2025 award was an incredibly meaningful recognition of everything the program stands for," Natasha said.
