Bayside Council has adopted its Innovative Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) 2026-2028 that reaffirms Councils commitment to strengthening relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
This Plan allows Council to advance reconciliation in Bayside while building on its commitment to equal opportunity and inclusion for all.
This Plan has been developed in alignment within Reconciliation Australia's Innovate RAP Framework together with advice and support from Council's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, Council's RAP Working Group, local community members, Elders, Knowledge Holders, and La Perouse and Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Councils.
Bayside Council's RAP will be officially launched during Reconciliation Week that runs from Wednesday 27 May - Wednesday 3 June.
Mayor Edward McDougall said
"Council's Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) continues to strengthen our relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
"This is Council's second RAP, and I hope it continues to challenge and inspire the broader community to join us on our reconciliation journey.
