Quotes attributed to Michael Tennant

I have had the privilege and honour of serving almost 21 years in the public service, including five and half years in the Territory.

My public service career has been very rewarding. I am proud of what we have achieved and the positive contributions we have made with the support of great teams and colleagues across government and through close collaboration with our industry, not for profit and private sector partners.

Michael has led major reforms and projects as the CEO of the Department of Trade, Business and Innovation and previously as the Acting CEO of the Department of Tourism and Culture, CEO of the NT Land Development Corporation and Deputy CEO of the Department of the Chief Minister.

Michael has helped implement and deliver on the Governments jobs agenda including increasing the buy local program to 30% across all stages of procurement; the development of major projects and private sector investment in the Territory; supporting Territory businesses to start, run and grow, helping to create the jobs of the future through defence support, renewable energy, gas and business innovation; and the development and delivery of economic stimulus programs.

His drive to deliver for businesses and jobs for Territorians has been outstanding and I thank him for his work and contribution to our Territory.

Our Government remains focused on creating more jobs, getting more people to live and invest in the Territory and delivering generational change for a brighter future.
