It's now even easier for Tasmanians to return eligible drink containers for a 10-cent refund, with a new Recycle Rewards refund point now open at Cambridge.
Minister for Environment and Climate Change, Guy Barnett, said about 85 per cent of Tasmanians now have access to a refund point within 10km of their home.
"Tasmanians have embraced Recycle Rewards since its launch, returning more than 150 million containers so far," Minister Barnett said.
"This new refund point gives people on Hobart's Eastern Shore another easy and convenient way to recycle eligible drink containers and receive their refund.
"Every container returned through Recycle Rewards is one less container that could end up as litter in our parks, waterways and streets.
"This is good news for the community and good news for the environment, especially as we continue to strengthen Tasmania's circular economy.
"Our 2030 Strong Plan continues to support practical action to reduce litter, increase recycling and support stronger communities across Tasmania."
The opening of the Cambridge location brings the number of refund points to 49, supported by two mobile collection points on the East Coast.
