The Hills Shire Council has introduced Recycle Mate, a new online tool designed to simplify recycling for everyone.
Now available on Council's website, Recycle Mate is an innovative platform that serves as an instant recycling guide. By clicking on the map, Hills residents can easily find recycling facilities nearby or search for specific items they want to recycle.
Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne, said the new addition is a game-changer for local households.
"Recycle Mate takes the second-guessing out of the equation for our residents who are wanting to do their part for the environment," Mayor Byrne said.
"While our community is already great at recycling everyday items, Recycle Mate is the perfect solution for those trickier items.
"Simply type in what you want to throw out and Recycle Mate will tell you if it can go in your red, yellow or green-lidded bin, or other places the item is accepted for recycling."
The platform boasts a comprehensive search engine with over 8,500 items.
The real-time updating also ensures residents always have access to the most current recycling information.
