Red Cross runway: fashion for cause

Australian Red Cross

Sydneysiders looking for high street fashion at affordable prices can snap up a deal for a good cause in a mega pop-up shop hosted by Australian Red Cross this month.

The "Fashion for a Cause" event will take over the Paddington Town Hall for three days between 26-28 May and promises a range of quality products starting at just $10.

All funds raised support Australian Red Cross to deliver its humanitarian programs, with a second pop-up taking place in Melbourne from 4-6 August.

Australian Red Cross Head of Retail, Richard Wood, said the events are major fundraisers for the organisation and is encouraging people to snap up a bargain.

"When you support Australian Red Cross, you are supporting us in bringing people and communities together in times of need," Mr Wood said.

"Whether that is through migration support services, assistance in times of emergency and disaster, or through our international and domestic community programs, every time you give to the Red Cross you are making a difference to people who need it most.

"These events are a fun way for people to get involved and provide support for this work, with the added bonus of a few new pieces of high-end fashion."

The Sydney pop-up is supported by the City of Sydney, with Lord Mayor, Clover Moore encouraging locals and visitors to support the event.

"We know fast fashion is hurting the planet, so by buying something recycled, or from excess stock from our major retailers, you are being more sustainable," she said

"Get out, enjoy the city, and have fun shopping sustainably at Red Cross Fashion for a Cause!"
