The Crisafulli Government is delivering record investment and a fresh start for regional Queensland after holding a successful meeting of Community Cabinet in Goondiwindi.
Around 150 people attended PCYC Goondiwindi on Sunday to discuss plans and priorities with the Premier and his Ministers, including crime and youth justice, regional jobs, manufacturing opportunities, small business, opportunities for women in rural communities, and the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The Crisafulli Government outlined how it's making Queensland safer, restoring health services when you need them, delivering more jobs and better services through a stronger economy, and building Queensland's future.
The Crisafulli Government is healing Labor's Health Crisis, through local investment, including $2 million towards a new Goondiwindi Neighbour Centre to expand disability and health services, and support for at-risk children and their families.
Increased support for health workers includes a $6.9 million investment in the Goondiwindi Staff Accommodation Upgrade, while patients and families across the region who need to travel for healthcare can access the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme which received an $11.7 million per year boost in the 2026-27 State Budget.
The Crisafulli Government is continuing to unlock housing supply in Goondiwindi, with $2.9 million to deliver road and intersection upgrades, stormwater drainage, water and sewer mains, and electrical and telecommunications infrastructure to unlock more than 100 new homes, as part of Round 2 of the Residential Activation Fund.
The Crisafulli Government is restoring safety where you live in Goondiwindi through the Secure Communities Partnership Program, awarding more than $84,800 to nine local businesses to enhance security infrastructure.
The Breach Bail, Go to Jail and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2026 was introduced to Parliament last Thursday and is the next stage of Adult Crime, Adult Time, targeting youth and adult offenders who commit serious offences while on bail.
The Crisafulli Government is also delivering flood resilience along the Macintyre River under Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements, as well as an investment through the 2024-27 Works for Queensland Program to upgrade wild dog fencing, renewed water and sewerage services, and improvements to the Town Common Road.
Premier David Crisafulli said the Government was delivering a plan for the region's future.
"We've been listening to the Goondiwindi community and we're acting on what we've heard, not only today but since we took office, to ensure we deliver what matters to them," Premier Crisafulli said.
"The best way to hear about the priorities and how we can shape the future together is to hit the road and meet people and this is why Community Cabinets are so important.
"We are laser-focussed on delivering for this community - including safety where you live, health services when you need them and better services through a stronger economy."
Previous Community Cabinets have been held this year in Caloundra and Kingaroy.
