Register your interest to be involved in our COVID-19 Arts Recovery Panel

As we continue our efforts to help residents and the broader community impacted by coronavirus (COVID-19), we are inviting individual artists and arts sector representatives to register their interest in being a member of Geelong COVID-19 Arts Recovery (G-CAR), a new arts advisory committee for the City of Greater Geelong. The decision to support the Arts community was taken by Council at our 14 April 2020 meeting by allocating $20,000 towards the new committee's operations.

We have established G-CAR to hear first-hand from people working in the arts, cultural, entertainment and heritage sectors to understand how the pandemic is affecting professional practices.

This will help us to respond with new insights and programs designed to support the healing, strengthening and future evolution of our creative communities.

Our Arts & Culture Department will select individuals for G-CAR to achieve broad industry and cultural representation. Representatives will be paid an industry standard sitting fee.

Details related to the number and regularity of meetings are to be determined.

The first G-CAR meeting will be held from 6:00pm to 7:30pm on Wednesday 6 May 2020 (details to be confirmed).
