Reichle Rd Culvert Upgrade Begins in 2024 Flood Effort

Toowoomba Region Sports Precinct

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) will soon begin upgrading the culvert on Reichle Road over Grasstree Creek at Yandilla, as part of the broader 2024 Flood Recovery Program.

TRC Construction and Maintenance (Infrastructure Services) portfolio spokesperson, Cr Carol Taylor, said the works are a key step in strengthening local infrastructure after recent flood damage.

"Construction and Maintenance (South) crews will start work in the coming weeks to repair flood damage and replace the culvert," Cr Taylor said.

To complete the replacement safely, Reichle Road will be closed to traffic during the works with detours in place.

"We thank residents and road users for their patience while this important work is carried out," Cr Taylor said.

"The new culvert will improve reliability and help the road better withstand future weather events."

Council acknowledges the financial support of the Queensland and Australian Governments through the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA), which make these upgrades possible.

Weather permitting, works should be completed by March 2026.
