Remembering Bali bombing victims 20 years

Members, Acting Premier

On behalf of the Tasmanian Government I acknowledge and remember the 88 Australians tragically killed in the October 12, 2002 Bali bombing, 20 years ago today.

Sadly, a fellow Tasmanian, Tim Hawkins, was among the victims killed in the tragedy, at the young age of 28.

Our thoughts and prayers are for Mr Hawkins' family and friends on what is an extremely difficult day for them.

While it was a dark day in our country's history, we also pay our respects to the 114 lives lost from other countries around the world in this atrocity.

Human life is so precious, and all these people are remembered and appreciated on this difficult day.
