Renewed Appeal To Locate Man Missing From Hornsby

Police are renewing a public appeal for assistance to locate a man missing from Sydney's north.

Matthew Altavilla, aged 33, was last seen on Palmerston Road, Hornsby, about 4.10pm on Sunday 15 February 2026.

Officers attached to Ku-Ring-Gai Police Area Command were notified on the same day and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police hold concerns for his welfare as Matthew requires regular medical assistance.

Matthew is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm - 180cm tall, of medium build, with short dark hair, and a full beard.

Police were told Matthew has tattoos on his left calf and both arms.

He was last seen wearing a blue-purple t-shirt, dark shorts, white shoes and glasses.

Matthew is believed to frequent the Hornsby, Central Coast, Rhodes, Burwood, Ashfield and Sydney's CBD and inner-city areas.
