Replica firearms seized; man charged in Haymarket

A man has been charged with firearm offences after he was allegedly found in possession of two replica pistols in Sydney’s CBD earlier today, NSW Police say.

About 4.45am (Sunday 23 December 2018), officers from Police Transport and Public Safety Command attended Central Railway Station and spoke to a 57-year-old man.

Police searched him and allegedly located two replica firearms.

The man was arrested and taken to Day Street Police Station.

He was charged with two counts of possess unauthorised pistol.

The man, from Orange, was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 23 December 2018), where he was formally refused bail to reappear at Central Local Court on 7 January 2019.
