Resignation of Audrey Zibelman

I would like to thank Audrey Zibelman for her contribution over the past four years as CEO of the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) and more recently as a member of the Energy Security Board (ESB).

Audrey has led AEMO, through a period of significant change in the energy market, to deliver reforms that will help ensure Australians have access to affordable, reliable and secure energy.

She has focused in particular on ensuring there is enough investment in dispatchable generation alongside the record level of investment in renewables.

This has been an important contribution, as has the shift to the Actionable Integrated Systems Plan, which provides an important roadmap for the future development of the National Electricity Market (NEM).

Audrey has also led AEMO in managing the electricity system through summer peaks, minimising the risk of supply disruptions for Australian households and businesses when demand for electricity is highest.

As a member of the ESB, Audrey's influence in developing the post 2025 design for the NEM will be felt going forward.

Audrey will continue in the role until the end of the year and I look forward to continuing to work with her to ensure the delivery of affordable, reliable energy.

I wish Audrey all the best in her future endeavours and thank her once again for her contribution to the Australian energy market.
