The restoration of the Hurstville War Memorial Cenotaph on Forest Road is now finished. This ensures that the site of remembrance continues to stand with dignity for future generations.
The memorial has undergone conservation work done to maintain its historical and cultural value.
Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, "This restoration shows our commitment to preserving local heritage."
"This memorial is a place of reflection and respect. By completing these works, we ensure the stories and sacrifices of our servicemen and women remain visible and honoured."
This project was partially funded by the NSW Office for Veterans Affairs' Community War Memorials Fund and was managed by Council.
Community members are invited to visit the restored memorial.
