Review Of Reef 2050 Plan Is Now Underway

A review of the Reef 2050 Long-Term Sustainability Plan (Reef 2050 Plan) is now underway to ensure management actions remain contemporary and more adaptive to a changing climate.

The Reef 2050 Plan is the Australian and Queensland Government's overarching framework. It sets out how we will work together to protect and manage the Great Barrier Reef to 2050.

This is a routine review that is undertaken every five years to ensure the plan remains current and fit for purpose.

The review of the Reef 2050 Plan will be led by the Australian Government Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) in collaboration with the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (Reef Authority) and the Queensland Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI).
